Botox
Dysport & Xeomin
Injectable Medications
Neurotoxins such as BOTOX, Dysport, and Xeomin are injectable medications designed to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the glabellar lines (eyebrows), forehead creases and crow’s feet. Like Botox, Dysport is used to relax the underlying muscles, reducing wrinkles. It has been shown to deliver temporary improvements to moderate to severe wrinkles on the face.
Our nurse practioners perform all Dysport injections themselves, thus ensuring that each patient receives the best care and treatment possible, as well as the best results. Our providers are skilled and able to avoid unwanted side effects in most patients due to their extensive experience and knowledge of Dysport effects and facial anatomy.
How Does It Work?
BOTOX or Dysport is injected directly into the muscles that cause facial wrinkles, temporarily relaxing them. It stops the signal from the nerve to the muscles, ultimately resulting in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily preventing contraction of the muscles that cause frown lines. Weakening the strength of these muscles, will decrease the tension that they place on the skin, allowing the wrinkles to flatten out. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled. The untreated facial muscles continue to contract normally, leaving your normal facial expression unaffected. Full results will be realized within one week. These results generally last 4 – 6 months.
